How does S2U validate its sustainability specialists?

Every specialist is individually assessed against our competency requirements before joining, including a direct assessment by a peer in their field. We are building a network of leading practitioners with a proven record of impactful delivery.

What if I'm not sure which specialist I need?

Knowing which specialist you need can be difficult, and our team will help. Beyond the platform's search tools, we'll help you scope the problem and identify the right specialist for it. Email enquiries@s2u.global.

Can I keep my contact details private whilst I choose a specialist?

Yes. You can search, message and scope entire projects on-platform, keeping your contact details private until you choose to share them. Every discussion stays inside S2U's secure environment. See our Privacy Policy and Website Terms of Use for how we handle your data.

Why do I need to sign in with LinkedIn?

We use LinkedIn to verify identity, so every member is a real, named professional rather than an anonymous account – part of how we keep the network credible. We don't currently offer alternative sign-in methods.

Can I use S2U if I'm based outside the UK?

Yes. S2U serves clients worldwide. Our specialist network began in the UK and is growing internationally, so wherever you are based, you can engage the right specialist for your challenge. To discuss a specific international requirement, email enquiries@s2u.global.

Why use S2U instead of a traditional consultancy?

With S2U you engage the specialist directly, and can build a team from the best independent specialists rather than relying on a single provider. Because S2U is built and run by sustainability practitioners, the people behind the network understand the work and can judge who delivers it well. Fees are transparent, the specialists are independent, and you deal directly with the people doing the work.

How much does S2U cost, and how does pricing work?

The platform is free to join and search; you pay only when you commission work. On the standard introduction model, S2U's fee starts from 17% added to the specialist's fee, representing less than 15% of your total project cost. For enterprise engagements, where you contract solely with S2U, terms are arranged to suit your needs. No upfront fees, no hidden charges.

Is S2U a recruitment platform or job board?

No. S2U gives you access to expertise, not recruitment. You are not taking on an employee or posting a role; you engage an established independent specialist, or a small boutique consultancy, for a defined piece of work, with contracting and payment handled on the platform. You can run a single engagement or manage many through S2U. These are experienced practitioners who run their own practices, selected for a proven track record in their field.

What kinds of sustainability challenges can S2U specialists help with?

S2U specialists work across the full breadth of sustainability – environmental, social and economic. To name a few areas: carbon and greenhouse-gas strategy, accounting and verification; net zero and transition planning; climate risk and adaptation; nature and biodiversity; social sustainability and modern slavery in supply chains; ESG reporting and assurance; circular economy and life cycle assessment; and responsible supply chains more broadly. How does the referral scheme work?

We reward members who introduce other high-calibre specialists, or client organisations, to S2U. Because the network grows by invitation and reputation, trusted referrals are one of our main routes to expanding it. For current reward details, email enquiries@s2u.global.

Can I chat with customers directly on the platform?

Yes, but only once they have initiated contact with you. Once this happens, chat on the platform, exchange information and documents, arrange video calls and agree on working engagements.

Why should I provide details of my day rate?

Transparency helps the right clients find you. Your standard rate is one of several criteria clients use to shortlist specialists. You can also provide a range to reflect different project requirements – and once a client makes contact, you're free to agree a different structure for specific work through the platform's chat.

What does S2U charge?

S2U applies a 17% fee to your invoices for the services you deliver, ensuring you receive 100% of the fees and expenses you charge.

Can I become an S2U solution provider from anywhere?

We welcome solution providers internationally. We already host solution providers and clients across the UK, Europe and beyond, and continue to seek specialists with real depth in their fields. There is a quality bar: you'll need demonstrable, proven expertise and impactful delivery in your service area, and to pass our competency assessment. Apply at enquiries@s2u.global.
